Earlier I posted about the Chinese government offering reverse sterilisation surgeries to compensate for those families who lost their only child in the earthquake. In addition to that, they will also provide “free reproduction services, including counseling, guidance, surgery, and the implementation of artificial reproduction technology, for those who wish to have another child”.
As Slate says, “that’s what I call full-service public health insurance”. It says that what the issue is really about here is public anger over the kids who died in the flimsily built schools and the government’s failure to protect their only children.
